The Odd Place (Miejsca Nieparzyste) is a series of film photographs depicting the sky above concentration camps by artist Elżbieta Janika. These poetic and poignant images act as counter-monument to popular depictions of the Holocaust that represent and visualize mass violence and atrocity. Instead, Janicka uses unrepresentability and abstraction as a method to visualize trauma that does not spectacularize viewers.
